The idea of room designs emerged when I was building the prototype of this website. I experimented with different character bio layouts only to be deeply disappointed with the results. I knew that no amount of tweaking would alleviate this feeling leading me to seek out unconventional designs. It was at this point the idea of character rooms emerged in my mind. 

 

These could help users connect intimately with the characters in a way no single piece of character art could. It could also have the potential of being unique and visually stunning which would help the brand stand out. These thoughts led me to proposing the room designs project. I knew from the start that the undertaking would difficult, time consuming and high effort, but worthwhile.
